The greater Birmingham Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1883 to serve the pets and people of the Greater Birmingham community. We currently receive no city, state, federal, or United Way funding to subsidize our $1.2 million dollar budget. Throughout our history we have depended on the generosity of the public and foundations to help us meet the community’s needs. Today you have the opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of homeless pets.
