The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Fluvanna County is a nonprofit and private organization founded in 1989 in response to a brutal and senseless killing of a pet Labrador Retriever. We have come a long way from the original mule shed built in the 1940s to a modern facility. Our goal is to rescue domestic animals from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment and to teach responsible pet ownership.
