I'm not sure what I should do with my 8 yr old beagle, if he steels something, trash or food whatever it may be and I try to get it he goes after me, the other day he grabbed my arm, I didn't dare tell hubby, he already thinks he should go, he is on all kids of meds already, allergy pills, antibiotics and thyroid meds, is there something I could give him to calm him down or should he go?

hows your beagle? Sounds to me like he might just be going through a mid life crisis. Have you changed his food lately? Make sure that even if he snaps at you that you take charge. Do not act afraid, even if you are. Take him by the neck, using your hand like the mouth of a dog and hold him down until he releases whatever it is you want, and he no longer is agressive. Laying him on his back with his tummy area exposed is good. If he is WAY to agressive for you to do this, there are homopathic things you can give to relax him, but you have to be careful with thyroid problems with drug interaction. I would be interested in knowing more..

i agree w the last reply! show em whos boss! you control that behavior quickly! mabey the dogs not getting enough exercise. he needs to explore. also mabey the dogs not getting the right nutrients in the diet add carrots, apples, fress meat ect do training w stuff like this and maybe your dog wont crave the trash soooo much.
