Tiggers passing 1 Year, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Tigger came into our lives four years ago. He had been kept in cage for almost one year at a specialty vet in Sugarland when we saw him there. He had been brought in by a stranger after being hit by a car. The vet put Tigger back together and attempted to adopt him out. No one wanted Tigger because he was FIV positive. My daughter’s guinea pig got sick which brought us to the specialty vet in Sugarland. I saw Tigger and immediately wanted to love on him. He was a Bengal type cat with beautiful markings and obviously couldn’t use his front legs very well after being kept in the small cage for so long. They told me he could only be adopted to a one cat household since he did not get along with other cats but they said he loved children. I told them I worked with “Adopt a Cat” and would take him and make sure he got a good home. I took Tigger from the cage and brought him into our home. Already having eleven cats most of which were rescues and aggressive males I wasn’t sure how this was going to work. I did intend to adopt out Tigs but that wasn’t meant to be. I am certain Tigger was an angel sent into our home to help the other cats make peace. They loved Tigger and Tigger loved them. He learned how to walk again and in fact could climb quite well even with his strange short step from atrophy of his muscles in his front legs. Tigs only natural enemy was our grand daughter who always tried to love him. While he tolerated children he most certainly did not love them as we were told. On the morning of January 14th we noticed Tigger was having trouble breathing. At 2:30 pm I called the VCA in Houston and the doc told me to take him to a vet as soon as possible. He said it was likely pneumonia which could be life threatening. Tigger passed away at 4:00 pm in my lap while driving to the vet here in Austin. Tigger is in kitty heaven now with all the other kitties that have passed. He is already missed very much by all of us. Tigger is now resting comfortably in our garden with a huge granite marker. He was indeed an angel.

Hi CatMan,

We are sorry for you loss, and apologize for just now responding (due to extended travel). Having several cats over the years, I can understand how you must miss Tiger. Each cat has such a unique personality, and it sounds like Tigger was truly special.

Thank you for providing homes and love to these majestic creatures.

Thanks

I ordered a little headstone with his name on it. It is pretty cool. Someone
planted tulips at some point in time. They are coming up all around his granite marker. Its really nice.

Thank God they all made it here to our new home. Now they can all be burried together when their times come.
